Doris was born on July 8, 1960 in Sinton, Texas to Richard and Beverly Whitmire. This queen married the love of her life, her “king”, Michael Bryant Permenter on April 25, 1981. Together they wove a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and countless friends. Doris and Mike raised two daughters, Lauren and Audrey, who were everything to her. Her greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother and loving her beautiful granddaughters.
During all her years of life, Doris worked tirelessly and ferociously with whatever she put her hand at, including her careers, family, hobbies, and other passions; she was a dynamo. Doris had multiple talents. Among them she most enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, and bible journaling. She had a passion for serving and giving to others. She was the first to volunteer to host events and had a gift for marking occasions and making others feel special. Doris spent countless hours of time devoted to her church and community outreach.
Throughout her journey in living with a terminal illness, Doris’ faith never wavered. She remained strong and steadfast in the Lord and was at complete peace with her fate. She knew her savior and her last days were spent glorifying God and praising him for all of her life’s blessings.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Permenter, daughters Lauren Kornely (Josh) & Audrey Frost (Michael), granddaughters Evie & Addie Kornely, and Parker Frost, Mother Beverly Whitmire, sisters Linda Whitmire, Sue Heath, Brenda Whitmire, Patricia Whitmire, Lisa Whitmire, Sharon Chambliss & Nancy Whitmire, & many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Doris is preceded in death by her Father, Richard Whitmire.

We have been humbled and blessed by the outpouring of love and support shown to our family by The Mount Church. Doris would want other families to be blessed just as we have. In honor of her memory, if you desire, any donations can be made to The Mount Church benevolence fund, which is used to serve others in times of need.
