Dorothea Maxcine Brock Praytor
Known to all as “Mema”
99 years,11 months, and 16 days
“Mema” left her earthly family to reunite with her heavenly family on October 23, 2024 at 5:30pm surrounded by her loving family.
She was born an only child in Vernon, Texas on November 8,1924 to John Wesley Brock {farmer and rancher} and Bessie (Carter) Brock {homemaker}
From a young age she worked on her parent’s farm picking cotton and joining her dad on round-ups until the age of 18. On August 26,1942 she married the love of her life, Edward Monroe (Jeff) Praytor of Cleburne, Texas. She was a homemaker who loved to cook big meals and sew clothes for her family while attended nursing school. In 1962, Dorthea and Jeff started Northeast Paint and Body and Wrecker Service that provided for their family for 61 years.
“Mema” was preceded in death by her mom, dad and loving husband.
She is survived by 3 children:
Son, Daniel Edward Praytor and Julie Praytor of Melbourne, Ark.
Son, Glen Dale Praytor and Tina Garner of Weatherford, Tx.
Daughter, Kathy Gail (Praytor) O’Neal and Larry O’Neal of Weatherford, Tx.
6 Grandchildren:

“Mema” loved our Lord and Savior and was a devoted Christian.
She was known for her home cooking, tasty pies, passion for deer hunting and fishing but most of all for her unwavering love for her family and friends. God’s light shined through everything she did.
“Mema” will be truly missed but her legacy will live on forever.
