Dorothy Lee Braswell, 87, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017.
Funeral: 11:00 AM Monday in the Chapel of The Hills Church in North Richland Hills. Interment will follow in Rendon Cemetery in Rendon. Visitation: 2-4:00 PM Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Dorothy was born December 12, 1929 in Roscoe, Texas to the late Jesse and Edith Wooten. She always loved music and recorded songs with her sister Allene. This love for music she instilled in her children. Dorothy also greatly enjoyed gospel music, the cooking channel, Sunlife Broadcasting Network, and listening to Jimmy Swaggart, Loretta Lynn (whom she called "my girl"), Merle Haggard, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Dorothy retired after 25 years of service to HEB Hospital. Above all she loved spending time with her friends and family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashlie Starr Gerth and husbands, Harrise Braswell and Jack Carter Taylor.
Survivors: Daughter, Deborah Gerth-Craigmyle and husband Larry; Sons, Craig Alan Taylor and wife Kelly Gilson and Keith Brian Taylor; grandchildren, Amber, Ashlie, Autum, Dustin, Alanna, Dalton, Larkin, and Madison; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Floyce Wooten; sisters, Allene Kurmadas, Gloria Huffman, and Carolyn Lane; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
