Dorothy Kathleen Wood Truly

HURST -- Dorothy Kathleen Wood Truly, 84, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2016.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Hurst, 521 W. Pipeline Road. Interment: 3 p.m. in Coolidge Cemetery in Coolidge. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to P.E.O. Women's Organization or a charity of your choice in memory of Dorothy Truly.
Dorothy Truly was born Jan. 26, 1932, in Coolidge to the late Milton and Katie Wood. She married her husband of over 62 years, Leo Truly, on Sept. 15, 1949. They lived in Fort Worth, Hillsboro and 49 years in Hurst.
Dorothy was a graduate of Coolidge High School and received her B.S. in education from TCU and her master's in counseling from North Texas State University. She retired from teaching after 27 years at Hurst Hills Elementary in the H-E-B School District.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hurst. Dorothy was a member of Oak Crest Woman's Club, P.E.O. Woman's Organization, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Beside playing bridge, Dorothy enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Leo and Dorothy loved to travel, square dance and spend time with their family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Truly; her parents; and her only brother, Roy Milton Wood.
Survivors: Son, David Truly and wife, Christy: daughters, Carolyn Morrow and husband, Glenn, and Kathy Milburn and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Michael Truly and wife, Natalie, Kayla Hartweg and husband, Beau, Brandon Morrow and wife, Paigon, Kelley Milburn and fiancee, Errin Pauls, and Brian Morrow; great-grandchildren, Kepler and Tesla Hartweg; and other family and friends.
