Dorothy Mary Walling Lehmann quietly passed in the presence of her family to enter the pearly gates of Heaven to her eternal home of peace, love, comfort, and care on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Interment: 1:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Lucas Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to begin at 6 p.m.
Dorothy was born November 1, 1933 in Anthon, Iowa to the late Cyril and Margaret Walling. She went on to marry her best friend, Richard on October 8, 1955. Dorothy and her husband of 61 years traveled abroad through his career in the United States Air Force. She was very active, involved in Tai Chi, and loved walking, playing and cuddling with her dogs daily. Her smile was contagious and could be seen and felt through any situation. She carried a positive attitude in everything that she said and did. Dorothy was an energetic, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a very independent lady and loved life to its fullest. Dorothy was a very devout Catholic and praised God daily. The Lord, Jesus Christ was the center of her very being.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gerald and Cyril, Jr.; and sister, Mary Claire.
Husband, Richard; daughters, Lori and Vicki; son-in-law, John; grandchildren, Tina, Crystal, Timothy, and their spouses; five great-grandchildren; 11 brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
