Doug Pearson passed from this life into eternity on June 25, 2015—ten months after being diagnosed with stage IV cancer of the esophagus. He was 50 years old.
A veteran of the US Marine Corps, Doug lived his life devoted to his wife and children. After serving in the Marine Corps, he worked for 15 years for AT&T, before beginning work in Catholic Radio in the year 2000. By the grace of God, Doug experienced a conversion and chose to be initiated into the Catholic faith in 2000 . The remainder of his life was spent leading his family, by his passionate and joyful example, to know and love Jesus, especially through devotion to Jesus’ Blessed Mother, Mary.
Though Doug’s final months of life were marked by great suffering, his most earnest prayer intention through it all was that he would seek to embrace the will of God rather than simply accept it. In his life and his death, Doug was a profound witness to what it means to take up your cross and follow Jesus.
Doug is greatly missed by so many. He leaves behind his beloved bride, Tricia, their nine children (named below), and 11 grandchildren.
We entrust Doug’s soul to the Divine Mercy of God, and ask above all that you would pray daily for the eternal repose of his soul.
O GENTLEST Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament,
ever consumed with burning love for the Poor captive Souls in Purgatory, have mercy on the Soul of Thy departed servant, Doug.
Be not severe in Thy judgment, but some drops of Thy Precious Blood fall upon him, and send, O merciful Savior, Thy Angels to conduct him to a place of refreshment, light and peace. Amen.
