Douglas L. "Doug" Votruba, 59, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday at White's Chapel United Methodist Church, Southlake. Interment: Will be private in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, Keller.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers please make donations in Doug's name to the Wounded Warrior Project or any veteran's organization.
Doug was born November 18, 1957 in Mission to the late Charles and Ruth Votruba. He was a graduate of Gladbrook High School in 1976. Doug married DeLaine on June 12, 1976 in Waterloo, Iowa. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for over four years. Doug worked at MSC Industrial Supply for 26 years. He was involved in "Big Brothers" of Orange County, Calif., men's club at church, a scout leader, as well as various other activities in the community.
The family would like to give a sincere thanks to all staff at Baylor Scott and White Hospital-Grapevine, White's Chapel UMC, co-workers at MSC, and a host of family and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; son, Justin Votruba; maternal grandparents, Ellis and Leota Bell; and paternal grandparents, Adolph and Pearl Votruba.
Survivors: Wife of 40 years, DeLaine Votruba; son, Josh Votruba; daughter-in-law, Jessica; grandchildren, Myka and Brantley; brothers, Marvin Votruba and Martin Votruba and wife, Peggy; sister, Lanette Cain and husband, Ray.
