Douglas V. Woodard, 63, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Grapevine, Texas. Born in Seattle, Washington to Clyde and Elizabeth Woodard, graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1978 and later moved to the Dallas area to pursue his career.
Doug was the proud father of Katie and Zak who were his pride and joy. Business travel from Houston to Dallas led him to a chance meeting on a flight where he
met the love of his life Michelle. Doug and Michelle were approaching their 20 th anniversary this April.
Doug worked in the home building industry and proudly spent 29 years at David Weekley Homes. When Doug was not at work, he enjoyed boating on Lake Grapevine, tinkering in his garage, watching sports and spending time with Michelle and the kids. After a successful career, Doug retired in 2021 so he could
travel and pursue his hobbies. During this retirement, his love and passion for sports led Doug and Michelle to tour numerous ballparks and stadiums across the country. Doug will be forever remembered for his love of family, outdoors, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.
Doug is survived by his wife Michelle Woodard, daughter Katie Woodard, son Zak Carroll, sisters Betty-Ann Ray, Janet Hobelman and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Doug’s life will take place on February 2, 2024, at 2:00PM at Lucas Funeral Home, located 700 W. Wall Street Grapevine, Texas. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association. The family would like to express their genuine gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of
love and support during this difficult time.
