Dwaine Greene

Dwaine Greene passed away on September 12, 2018.
Memorial Service: 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Birdville Baptist Church in Haltom City. The family would like to receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm.
Visitation: 6 to 8 pm, Friday, September 14, 2018 at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst.
A private family burial will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.
Dwaine was born in Brock, TX on October 11, 1934. He attended Carter Riverside High School in Fort Worth. He grew up attending Riverside Baptist Church where he preached his first sermon at the age of 15. Dwaine attended Baylor University and was in the class of 1957. He met his wife, Eleanor Jaynes, at Latham Springs Encampment while at Baylor in 1954 and they were married on May 18, 1957. Dwaine attended graduate school at Southwestern Seminary. His first church was First Baptist Flat, second church was First Baptist Franklin, third church was First Baptist Goldwaithe, and his fourth church was Birdville Baptist Church where he served for 35 years. While pastor at Birdville, he was an adjunct professor at Southwest Seminary, served on Birdville ISD school board for 12 years, and served on the NE Chamber of Commerce for many years. He held many Texas Baptist offices and Tarrant Baptist Association offices. Dwaine was awarded Pastor of the Year by Baylor University.
Dwaine felt being in the ministry was a wonderful gift. He was a people's pastor.
Dwaine is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eleanor Greene; his 3 sons and their families; and many other extended family and friends.
