Ed Speakmon

January 24, 1948 — March 3, 2019

City of Keller, Mayor Pro Tem, Ed Speakmon, passed away on March 3, 2019.

A U.S. Marine, GOP precinct chairman, and retired auto repair businessman, Ed was known in the Keller community as “Mr. Christmas”, which was a nickname given to him by his dear friends, Jill and Bob Irzyk over 20 years ago. He lived up to his moniker through his elaborate, award-winning decorations that adorned his home each year.

Christmas was the favorite holiday at the Speakmon house and Ed and Candy always tried to make it special for their kids and everyone around. One thing he was so proud of was that all of his kids share the same passion and enjoy sharing pictures of their decorated houses as a family.

Ed was well known around Town Hall for his genteel nature, wonderful sense of humor and willingness to roll up his sleeves to get things accomplished.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Candy Speakmon; his children, Keely Cerminara and husband, Lou, Darcy Pridham-Shaw and husband, David, and Derek Speakmon; granchildren, Taylor, Caden, and Cole; brothers, Ray Speakmon and Allan Speakmon; and many loving family and friends.
