Eddie Carroll Allen, 71, passed away peacefully early in the morning of Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Eddie was born to Roy Bradford and Alva Christine Allen on June 16, 1946 in Winnsboro, Texas. He graduated from Irving High School in Irving, Texas in 1965. He served in the army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany from 1966 to 1969.
After being discharged from the Army, he went on to study computer operations at a technical school in Dallas, Texas. He worked for Greater Commonwealth as a computer operator, and then later for Kmart Life Insurance Company as a programmer. He retired April 1, 2017 as Senior Systems Programmer for CSC in Irving, Texas. He was a highly valued employee of his company.

Eddie took classes in ballroom dance and participated in many competitions, always winning. It was in a class at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio that he met the love of his life, Margie. They were married for 43 years before she passed away last year.
His passion in life was computers. He built them from scratch as a hobby. He was the original geek squad. He could and would repair any computer for anyone free of charge. He was a very gifted programmer, self-taught in each of the many computer languages he knew.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Bradford and Alva Christine Allen; wife Margie Cleo; and by his brother Raymond Bradford.
Eddie is survived by his brothers: Thomas Allen and Charles Allen (wife Debbie); sisters: Virginia Dale White and Norma Hoffmeister (husband Larry). He was a loving father and grandfather to daughters: Kris Ann Allen, Amy Watson, Laura Jobe (husband Arthur); grandchildren: Alexis, Jordan, Logan, Scarlett, Madison and Ethan; and grand dogs: Bella, Penny, and Leo.
Funeral Service: 11am, Friday, October 27, at Lucas Funeral Home Keller Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honors.
