Eddie Houston

Eddie “Guy” Houston, beloved husband, father, and musician, passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and rhythm. Born on July 26, 1951, in Bowie, Texas, Guy’s journey through life was filled with music, family, and a deep-rooted connection to his community.

Eddie “Guy” spent his formative years growing up in his father's family-owned grocery store, where he learned the value of hard work and community. It was during these early years that he discovered his passion for music, particularly the drums. His love for rock 'n' roll was undeniable, and he channeled this passion into his band, Shotgun, which became a staple in the Dallas music scene.

He was a man who cherished his family deeply. Eddie “Guy” is survived by his devoted wife, Julie, his son, Liberty, & his daughter, Dana, stepsons Derek & Eric Ramirez grandsons, Hunter Jackson, Parker & Miles Ramirez. He also shared a special bond with his dog “Maddy Girl” always by his side and now together forever. Leaving his new addition “Lucky Dog” with Julie to be by her side.

Eddie “Guy's” life was a testament to his love for music and family. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his rhythmic drumming, and his unwavering love for those around him, as well as his compassion for animals and giving to charities.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, August 25 th , 2024, 2pm-5pm, at “The Vine Arts & Event Center” 225 West Worth Street Grapevine, Texas where friends and family are invited to share their memories and pay tribute to a man who lived his life with a beat that touched us all.
