Eddy Ray Parker Sr. was born on April 15, 1932, in Handley, Texas, to the late James Patterson Parker II and Mildred (Scarborough) Parker. He went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2019 in Keller, Texas.
Eddy Parker did many things during his lifetime including: boxing, playing football, hunting, professional fishing and traveling around the world. He never met a stranger and he loved to laugh and tell stories. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved Bible, was a strong supporter of Christian education and evangelism, started the Truth in Love television program and served as an elder at Colleyville Church of Christ and Brown Trail Church of Christ. He was also active in politics, serving alongside his wife, Juanita, as an election judge. He even ran for Texas state representative. He learned a number of skills and became a machinist working a number of years for General Dynamics in aerospace defense until he started his own business by opening his own auto body shop and towing service. He also served our country in the United States Navy and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Eddy Ray Parker Jr; daughter, Louetta Mildred Ward; and brother, James Patterson Parker III.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of over 63 years, Juanita (Fonville) Parker of North Richland Hills; his son, Andrew Parker and wife Bonnie of Spring Hill, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Lela Roberts of Eufaula, Alabama; three grandsons—Justin Parker, Luke Parker, and Matthew Parker; and one great grandchild.
