Edith Annette Bartley of North Richland Hills, TX, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 in North Richland Hills. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all that knew and loved her. Edith was born on September 26, 1938 in Greenville, Texas to Malcolm Thomas Swann and Hallie Warner. Edith grew up in the Greenville and surrounding areas. She graduated from Denison High and went to Texas Women’s University where she met her future husband, Robert Bartley. Edith graduated with a Master’s degree at Texas Women’s University years later. Edith taught Chemistry at Tarrant County Junior College, South Campus, for many decades. Edith was a member of multiple groups throughout her active life: Daughters of American Revolution, TCJC Gourmet and Bridge Clubs, Red Hat Society, Escapees RV Club, American Chemical Society, and NRH Senior Center. Edith and Robert founded the first Co-Ed B.S.A. High Adventure Explorer Post 505.
Edith is survived by her sons, Malcolm Philip Bartley of N. Richland Hills, Tx; and Raymond Lee Bartley of Conroe, Tx. Grand Children: Benjamin A. Bartley, Tx; Adam D. Bartley, Joey B. Bartley, and Alanna B. Kinzer. Great Grand Children: Jason Bartley, Tiberius Bartley, Ezekiel Bartley, Terra Bartley, Damion Kinzer and Lily Kinzer.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bartley.
The visitation will be held from 12–2 on February 9th at Lucas Funeral Home on 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am on February 10th at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church on 223 S Pearson Ln, Keller, TX; followed by interment at DFW National Cemetery on 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church for their charities.
