Edith Lorraine Stotts
Bedford – Edith Lorraine Stotts, 85, transitioned from this world into a perfect life in the care of Christ Jesus and God Almighty on Sunday, November 13, 2016.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Southlake, Texas. Subsequently she will be inurned into the DFW National Cemetery in a private ceremony.
Lorraine was born in Hammond, Indiana to George Frank Long and Mayme Garrett. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, four sisters and three brothers.
At the age of five her family migrated to California during the great depression in the movement termed the Grapes of Wrath. She grew up in California where she met and married her husband.
Lorraine was a homemaker and doted over her family. She loved to travel and often accompanied her husband on business trips during which she assisted him doing clerical work. She traveled with him in 47 of the 50 states, and Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan. Her favorite state was Alaska, trips she never missed.
Survivors: Shafter H. Stotts, Jr., husband of 65 years; son Paul Arthur and daughter-in-law Debbie of Wenatchee, Washington; son Michael Norman and daughter-in-law Leslee of Southlake, Texas; four grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nephews and nieces.
No flowers, please. Those desiring to memorialize her may, if so desired, do so with their church or favorite charity.
