Edward Orr, 73, went home to the Lord July 24, 2021 at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 11:00 am at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, 518 SW Johnson Avenue in Burleson.
Ed was born May 18, 1948 in Meadville, Penn. to Raymond and Blanche Orr. He grew up in Meadville and later moved to Cleveland, where he graduated from Collinwood High School in 1966. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University in 1970 and PhD in Zoology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1974.
After more than 25 years on the faculty at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, Ed moved to Florida, where he served on the faculty of Barry University until his retirement After retiring, he returned home to Texas to spend time with his family. He was a member of Harvest Bible Chapel Fort Worth.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
Ed is survived by daughters, Lisa De Pedro and husband, Juan and Lauren Orr and soon to be husband, Kalvin Hwang; son, Alan Michael Orr and wife, Aidan; sisters, Karen Reed and husband Ray and Linda Carson and husband, Roger; cherished granddaughters, Sophia De Pedro and Eliana Orr Hwang; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made Harvest Bible Chapel Fort Worth.
