Edwin “Jeep” Peterson passed away on May 7, 2021 at his home in Roanoke, Texas. He was 79 years of age.
Visitation: 3 to 5 pm Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas.
Service: 2:00 pm Monday, May 10, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Keller. Burial to follow at Elizabeth Cemetery in Roanoke.
Edwin was born on February 15, 1942 to Vera and Ogle Peterson in Roanoke, Texas. As a young man, he earned the nickname “Jeep” by driving around town in his little yellow Jeep. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and following his service he spent 17 years as an aircraft mechanic with Braniff Airlines. Jeep was a welder for most of his life and used those skills in many ways.
He loved the game of golf, as well as Poker. Jeep would play weekly games of Texas Hold’em with his friends. He also loved horse racing and would often visit Ross Downs and Ruidoso. Jeep loved his family and enjoyed quail hunting with his sons. He will be dearly missed.
Jeep is preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Aubrey Peterson; and sister, Sue Vaughn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fredda Peterson; sons, Greg Peterson and wife, Ashlee, Michael Peterson and wife, Jennifer, and Brad Peterson and wife, Tanya; grandchildren, Tyler, Emilee, Travis, Jacob, Grace, Austin, Carson, and Jack; five great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Teichman; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
