Effie Delilia Hairston

Effie Delilia Hairston,98, passed away April 23, 2021 at her home. A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson. A graveside service will be held at 11:30am, Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Burleson Memorial Cemetery.
Effie was born December 16, 1922, in San Saba, Texas, to Edgar and Mary Bruton White. She married Robert Hairston in 1941 in San Saba, and they were happily married for 47 years. She lived a long and happy life. Effie loved her time she had with her husband at the fishing and boating at the lake and morning sunrises. She loved the time that was spent on those special sister days she had. Most of all, she loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and family very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hairston; parents, Edgar and Mary White; siblings, Calvin White, Nelda Gardner and Agnes Carrigan.
Effie is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Barton and husband, Greg; son, Thomas Hairston and wife, Elaine; sisters, Marylou Gilmore and husband, Gordon, and Ethal Phlilips; grandchildren, Jimmy Wheeler, Kathy Wilkin and husband, Easton, Lance Hairston, Brandi Barton, and Belinda Whitaker and husband Randy; great-grandchildren, Steven Wheeler, Cole Vanwey, Kaylie Wilkin, Grace Wilkin, Hailey Barton, Gauge Blevins, Tristyn Whitaker, Zane Ellis, Dusty Ellis, and Savannah Whitehead; and great-great-grandchildren Ryan and Sutton Wheeler.
Mom was my rock. She was always at my side any time I needed her whether I asked or not. She is going to be missed deeply. I love you mom, give daddy a kiss.
