Effie Mae Smith

A precious soul, Effie Mae Smith, 84, of Haslet, Texas, entered eternal life on Tuesday morning, June 13th, 2023. She was born on March 10, 1939, in Lee County, Texas, to Woodrow and Lucy Guthrie. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers R.S. Guthrie, Donald Guthrie, sister Billie Jean VanHuss, the only man she ever loved Albert A Smith and her beloved son J Scott Smith.

Effie is survived by her son Albert Smith, daughter Carrie Thiemann and husband Brad, brother Terry Dale Guthrie and wife Theresa, sister-in-law Erica Guthrie, grandchildren Eric Smith and wife Bambi, Charlie Smith and wife Micah, Ryan Smith and wife Neely, Taylor Thiemann and wife Caitlin, and Tanner Thiemann, and great-grandchildren Triztyn Smith, Addison Smith, Vale Smith, Lake Smith, and Cason Smith. Numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

Effie was an angel on earth before reaching heaven. She gave her family the ultimate gift, the gift of unconditional love making those she cherished feel extra special. She loved spending time with her family, as they were her greatest joy. Her legacy is forever carved in our heart and souls.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15th, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home located at 700 W Wall St, Grapevine, TX.

Please join us celebrating her life this Friday, June 16th, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, followed by a committal service at Bluebonnet Hills mausoleum located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX.
