Elaine Kruger Dockendorf, age 65, passed away May 10, 2021 in Grapevine, TX due to cancer. She was born at Fort Lewis, Tacoma WA while her dad was in the service and spent her childhood in Illinois and Ohio. She attended the University of Florida where she met and married her husband of 45 years, Paul Dockendorf. After college they lived in Orlando FL, Ocala FL, and Fort Worth TX.
Elaine encouraged excellence in people. Two of her five children were high school valedictorians. Two children received their doctorate degrees from college, two children received their masters degrees from college, and one child is working on his doctorate from college.
Elaine was an excellent listener, reader, talker, and problem solver. She made a point of keeping in touch with friends and family by email, text, or telephone. She liked to say a daily rosary and add extra prayers in the middle and end, and when she said the sorrowful mysteries she went through a lot of tissues. She liked to read about medical news and tech advances, as well as, watching them on television along with murder mysteries and science fiction.
She expressed love in many ways and took on your problems which worried her like they were her own until they were resolved. She was very experienced in cooking, cleaning, sewing, decorating, and old-fashioned domestic skills. She dabbled in painting, crosswords, tech, and video games.
Elaine is survived by her husband Paul Dockendorf, mother Patricia Kruger, father Owen Kruger, brother Dale Kruger (Melanie), sister Teresa Stimpson (Chip), brother Robert Kruger (Maria), son Kirk Dockendorf(Anne), daughter Renee Figueroa (Carlos), son Karl Dockendorf (Marissa), son Mark Dockendorf, daughter Angelique Dockendorf, seven grandchildren, and other relatives.
