Elaine was born April 7, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to Joseph and Gladys Leverington.
Elaine was a loving wife of 41 years until the passing of her husband Ralph W. Shipman II in
January of 2007. Raising her three sons and later, helping to raise her grandchildren was her
greatest joy in life. Being a military wife gave her great pride in being the backbone of a family
in service to our country.
Elaine is preceded in death by her husband Ralph W. Shipman II, her mother and father Joesph
and Gladys Leverington, and her brothers Paul and Denis Leverington.
She is survived by her sons, Calvin Scott Shipman of Keller, TX, Michael Craig Shipman of
Keller, TX, and Jonathan Patrick Shipman of Ashburn, VA.
Elaine is also survived by five siblings, Michael Leverington, Kathey Kraig, Suzie Leverington,
David Leverington, and Tony Leverington.
Elaine was overjoyed to have welcomed seven grandchildren, Caitlin, Victoria, James, Raven,
Jacob, Jasmine, and Maximilien. She also embraced her blended family of grandchildren, Kyle,
Joseph, Toby, and Grace.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home, though Elaine liked having potted plants and flowers
that could be taken home and planted instead of cut flowers.
If anyone wishes to make a donation in her name, her favorite charity was
St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
