Eldon Vernon Mcdowell

Eldon McDowell, 94, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Legacy Church of Christ. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Legacy Church of Christ.
Memorials: in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Body and Soul Ministries.
Eldon was born April 4, 1924, in Coleman, TX. to William and Vera McDowell. He served in the U.S Army's 106th Infantry Division during World War II and fought in the Battle of The Bulge.
He married Marjorie Duke on September 2, 1950.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering from Texas Tech University and a Master's degree in engineering from SMU.
He worked at Bell Helicopter for many years and worked on the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey.
He was a charter member of Pipeline Church of Christ which is now Legacy Church of Christ. Eldon was a elder of the church for several years. Family and church were the most important things in his life.
Eldon was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie; parents William and Vera; son, Bill McDowell and grandson Brandon Presley.
Survivors: Daughters, Mary Lewis and husband Max from Waco, TX. and Sally Kempff and husband Pieter from Hurst, TX; daughter-in-law, Jan McDowell Burnet; sister, Betty James and husband Edward from Waco, TX; grandchildren, Tracy Smoot and husband Larren, Kyle Lewis and wife Raylene, Nathan McDowell and wife Melissa, Beth Everitt and husband Jason, Kevin Lewis and Derek Presley and wife Kristi; 18 great-grandchildren,; one great-great grandchild and many more loving family members and friends.
