Eldon Wiersig, of Justin, Texas, passed away on October 20, 2019 in Denton, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad, papa, friend, and pastor to all that knew and loved him.
He was born on March 23, 1933 in Alva, Oklahoma to Albert and Lillian Wiersig.
Eldon enjoyed playing football and baseball, during his time in school, and went on to play professional baseball for awhile. He then had the privilege of coaching The Little League Baseball Team in Alva. He was in sales for many years, but his greatest joy was when he became a Pastor.
Eldon thanked God everyday for allowing him to be born in the United States. Every time he saw a United States Flag flying, he would become excited and thank God once again for this great nation.
Eldon always shared how blessed he was to have found his perfect mate, Betty. This past August they celebrated 67 years of marriage. He loved all of his family, dearly.
Eldon is survived by his wife Betty, their three children: Tom Wiersig and wife Beth of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Tammy Tilson and husband Cary of Justin, Texas, and Jerry Wiersig and wife Teri of Foley, Alabama; five, grandchildren, nine, great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Mitchell and her husband, Raymond. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chris Wiersig.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 24th at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Anchor Christian Center, the church which he and Betty founded.
