Keller

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Jeanne Klein, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who left us peacefully on January 18, 2025. Born on April 9, 1962, in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada, to William Duncan and Elizabeth Robertson, Liz was a beacon of joy to everyone who knew her. She married her soulmate, Eugene “Andy” Klein on December 12, 2012.

Liz's early life was marked by her vibrant spirit and competitive nature. A graduate of Cobourg District Collegiate Institute East, she made her mark in the equestrian world as the 1979 Canadian National Champion in three-day eventing, showcasing her talent, dedication, and love for horses. Liz was very humble, and it was up to Andy to brag about her outstanding accomplishments. More recently, Liz volunteered with Victory Therapy Center which provides equine-assisted services and physical therapy for children and adults with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities.

Liz had a passion for travel which started when she worked for her mother’s travel agency and a brief stint as a flight attendant for Ward Air. She had a 31-year career with American Airlines as a Customer Services Agent, Lead Agent, and Customer Services Manager in Toronto and Calgary and finally as a Premium Services Agent in DFW. Her warmth, professionalism, and commitment to excellence enriched the experience of countless travelers. She brought joy to her workplace and was deeply respected by her colleagues.

As we reflect on Liz’s life, we celebrate the love she shared, the blended family that she created, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of many. Her kindness and compassion were a gift to all who crossed her path, and her legacy will live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.

Liz is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Andy Klein; daughter, Megan (Dave) Tandory; son, Cameron Metzak; stepdaughters, Jessica (Brody) Beach, Alexe (Chase) Cunningham and Tori Klein; grandchildren, Oliver Tandory, Miles Tandory, Maggie Beach, Briar Beach, Addie Cunningham and Parker Cunningham.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Lauren Metzak.
