Elizabeth Ann Jones Snody, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on May 25, 2020. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and colleague to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on October 1, 1949 in Olney, TX to Delbert Harrell Jones and Hester Flodell (Wheeler) Jones.
Elizabeth was a very devoted and caring Christian woman with a passion and drive for life. At a young age she knew she wanted to be a nurse to help others. She earned her LVN certificate at Olney Hamilton Hospital and an associate degree in nursing at Midwestern University. She was a critical care Registered Nurse in the ICU at Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth. She loved gardening and playing chicken-foot dominoes with her grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren dearly.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband Jerry Snody of Fort Worth, TX, daughter Shealyn Gray of Grand Prairie, TX, Suzanne Windle of Brock, TX, brother Harold Jones of Anson, TX, sister Della Lord of Lafayette, TN, sister Judy Wilkins of Three Rivers, TX, brother John Jones of Throckmorton, TX and sister Linda Jones of Throckmorton, TX, grandsons: Ryan Gray of Scott AFB, IL, Reid Gray of Arlington, TX, Reese Gray of Grand Prairie, TX, Jake Windle of Brock, TX and granddaughter Emmy Windle of Brock, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Bud Jones, grandmother Birtie Everett Jones, mother Flodell Jones, father Delbert Jones, granddaughter Sydney Elizabeth Windle, and her aunts Avilda Roquemore and Betty Cochran.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 30th at 2 p.m. at Throckmorton Cemetery. The casket will be open for a time after the service for viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
