Eloise Tucker

September 19, 1917 — July 30, 2012

SAGINAW -- Eloise King Tucker, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012.

Service: 10 a.m. Thursday First Baptist Church of Saginaw. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Sylvania Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Building Fund First Baptist Church of Saginaw.

A descendent of Texas pioneer Lawrence G.A. Steel, Eloise was born on Sept. 19, 1917, to George and Emory King in the Dicey community of Parker County. She graduated from Weatherford High School in 1934 and later worked for the Continental National Bank of Fort Worth. In 1945 she married Edwin B. Tucker on his return from Europe following World War II. They had one daughter, Barbara Jane. Eloise lived in the Riverside neighborhood of Fort Worth for over 50 years. She served the Riverside Baptist Church as a preschool Sunday school teacher and was an active member of the Faith Class. She also served the community over the years as a leader of Girl Scout Troop 250 and a member of the Sylvan Heights neighborhood association. She was known to her friends and family as a gracious hostess and helpful companion. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, and husband of 51 years.

The family is grateful to the staff of Autumn Leaves of Fossil Creek and Vitas Hospice for their help and care during the past three years.

Survivors: Daughter, Barbara Jane; nephews, nieces and friends.
