Elsie Alvera Froslan, of Keller, TX passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 15, 2019. Elsie was born on August 19, 1921 in South Branch Township, MN, to Berdines and Minnie Knudson. Elsie met and married Adler Fjone in Montana, where she loved living on their farm. Together, they had one daughter, Harriet. Elsie was widowed in 1968 and later moved back to Minnesota where she was remarried to Mark Froslan. Elsie loved her new family members as if they were her own. Together, she and Mark had 7 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Elsie was widowed again in 2003, but continued to live independently in St. James, MN, where she was an active member of First Lutheran Church and a beloved member of her community. In 2010 she moved to Keller TX, to live with her daughter.
Elsie embraced her new residence and continued to make new friends, establish a new church family at St. Peter Lutheran Church, and try new adventures. At the age of 91, Elsie was a featured extra in the pilot episode of the remake of the show “Dallas.”
Elsie is survived by her daughter Harriet Den Beste, of Keller, TX, son Leonard (Patty) Froslan, of Lewisville, MN, daughter in law Janet (Merlyn) Froslan of Mankato, MN, daughter Janet (Alan) Weidenbach, of Fountain Hills, AZ, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara, and brothers Herbert and Merlyn, her first husband, Adler, her second husband, Mark, and her son, Merlyn Froslan.
Two Celebration of Life services will be held in honor of Elsie. The first, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Roanoke, TX, on Saturday, July 13 at 10am. The second service will be held at First Lutheran Church in St. James, MN, on Saturday August 10, at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutherans for Life or personal choice.
