Emily R. Bodamer

August 28, 1938 — January 22, 2021

Emily R. Bodamer, affectionately known as “Mimi” to many, was born to parents Christy V and Emily R Wildt on Aug 28, 1938 in Wheeling, WV. She shared a wonderful marriage for over 50 years with her loving husband Keith A. Bodamer.

We celebrate her life as she departed from us at the age of 82 to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday Jan 22, 2021, reunited with her husband, family and friends already passed.

Mimi is survived by her daughter Nancy Read of Keller, TX and two sons Rodney Kent of Purcellville, VA and Bradford Alan of Cumming, GA. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Driver of Lookout Mountain, TN and brother Chris Wildt of Lewis, DE. Mimi was loved and adored by her 10 grandchildren, Will, Ryan, Emily, John, Lauren, Andrew, Brian, Jane, David, and Daniel.

Mimi was a devoted and loving mother and woman of Faith who will always be known for her contagious smile and kind and giving nature that she shared with everyone she met. Her passion for teaching and nurturing children was evident with her devotion to her own children as well as those she taught during her many years as a preschool teacher at Wesley United Methodist Preschool in Vienna, VA. An avid outdoor lover, she found so much joy with “all of God’s creatures” outside enjoying the sights and sounds of Nature. We have many fond memories of her enjoying long walks and taking time to be in the moment to appreciate and cherish the simple things in life. Her grace and sense of humor was unmistakable wherever she went, caring for others and bringing light and life to everyone she met along the way. We will miss you Mom, but we are also comforted in the assurance that, through your Faith in Jesus as a strong witness to all, may you rest in peace.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in memory of Mimi to the Alzheimer’s Association ( www.alz.org ).
