Emma Nelia Martinez

Emma Nelia Martinez, 78, of Hurst, TX, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in Fort Worth with her daughters by her bedside. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX.

Above all things, Emma loved Jesus. She continually stood in the gap for her family through her unceasing prayer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved cooking and caring for her family. Emma was a tremendous example of generosity, compassion, forgiveness, patience and humility. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered and loved.

She is survived by her four children, Samuel Alcala Jr. and his wife, Maria, Samantha Rico and her husband, Jesse, Sean Maurice Alcala, and Sonia Phoebe Alcala; her brother, Gaspar Ruiz Jr. and her sister, Consuelo Hernandez; her grandchildren, Isaac Alcala and his wife, Erica, Rebecca Mondragon, Anyssa Rochelle Alcala, Jacqueline Taylor Alcala, and Samuel Taylor Alcala; her great grandchildren, Iris Justine Alcala. Isis Amaris Alcala, NIcci Isabella Alcala, Zachery Maddox Alcala, Jacob Thomas Garcia, Joey Jonathan Mondragon, Juliette Faith Mondragon and Adam Aidan Alcala.

She was preceded in death be her father, Gaspar Ruiz, her mother, Celestina Ruiz, her sister, Adelmira Tober, her brother, Genaro Ruiz, her first husband, Samuel Alcala Sr., her second husband, Joe Martinez, and her great grandson, Michael Aiden Chanley.
