Eric James Ershick passed away on October 9, 2019 at the age of 51. Eric was born on February 21, 1968 in Melrose Park, IL to James and Constance Ershick. After graduating from high school, Eric joined the United States Marine Corp and served during Desert Storm War as a Marine Corp Reserve. Following his service in the Marine Corp, Eric attended the University of Central Missouri State where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation. Eric became a pilot and was a Captain for Netjets for many years, flying private jets.
Eric’s passions included classic cars, cigars, his dogs and his wife of 6 years. Eric enjoyed helping others and supported everyone he came in contact with whether it was a friend’s business or a child with a lemonade stand. Eric never passed a child selling cookies without stocking up. His famous saying was “Go find your happiness” and Eric truly did live his life daily in pursuit of happiness. He was known for his clever sense of humor and easy-going manner.
Eric is survived by his wife Linda Young; mother and father Constance and James Ershick; sister and brother-in-law Lisalore and Roger Jones; as well as several nieces, nephews and one great niece.
Eric was a huge animal lover and would encourage any and everyone to make a donation of their time or money to their local humane society.
