Eric Jay Gibbs

Eric Jay Gibbs, 44, died at 12:26 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017, from injuries sustained in a tractor accident at home.
Eric was born June 25, 1972, in Dalhart, Texas and spent his youth in small towns in Texas, Kansas and New Mexico. He moved to North Texas in 2008 with his wife and daughter and shortly thereafter welcomed a baby boy into the family. He formerly spent 8 years as an Airman in the Air Force and recently worked as an Aircraft Inspector for the F-35 program at Lockheed Martin. Eric was also involved in the local Cub Scout Pack 620 as Cubmaster.
He is survived by his wife Melissa Gibbs, daughter Morgan Gibbs, son Zachary Gibbs, father Michael Gibbs, mother Linda Gibbs, brother Craig Gibbs (Heather, Bailey, Paige), sister Brandy Herring (Ryan, Jacob, Cason, Abby), mother in law Ruth Gingery and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Marvin and Billie Jean Gibbs and maternal grandparents Ben and Clara Bolk.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 30 at Center Point Church (7804 Mid Cities Blvd, North Richland Hills, TX 76180. Frank DeLeo will officiate. There will be no graveside service as Eric’s wish was to be cremated.
