Esther M. Morales, 85, of Hurst, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
She was born on April 4, 1935, in Cordoba, Veracruz, Mexico to Irene Morales Machorro and Aurelio Machorro. Esther was married on March 23, 1959 in Apizaco, Tlaxcala, Mexico to Richard L. Morales. As a young couple they lived in Apizaco, Tlaxcala. As members of their Methodist Church in Mexico, the church was instrumental in their legal transition to the United States in 1959 and settled in Coolidge, Arizona. As they started their family in Coolidge, Arizona employment opportunities became available in other cities which subsequently led them to Tucson, Arizona and eventually to Hurst, Texas. Along with being a dedicated Methodist, Esther had a passion for singing in the church choir and sewing and retired as a seamstress in 1995. She self-taught herself in speaking, reading and writing the English language and became a U.S. citizen. Esther was a kind and gentle soul. She loved her family and truly loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite holiday.
Esther is survived by her husband of 62 years of marriage, Richard L. Morales; daughters, Miriam Galaviz, husband, Gilbert, of North Richland Hills; Laura B. Morales, of Hurst; Jessica Vandevier, husband, Greg, of Hurst; and Irene Thornton, husband, Matt, of Graham, Texas; and son, Richard Morales, wife, Sonya, of Haltom City; grandchildren, Alejandro Galaviz, wife, Jordan; David Wesley Ramirez; Heather Ramos, husband, Pedro; Ricardo Morales; Esai Morales; and Virginia Paredes.
