Ethel Lenora Hammon, of Keller, Texas passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at home with her daughter by her side. Ethel was born October 26, 1924 to Nettie and Boon Hyatt and was raised in Dickens County, TX. Ethel moved to Fort Worth, where she married Frank Cornwell in 1955 and later, Frank passed away in 1965. She gave birth to one child, a daughter, Patricia Cornwell McMahan. Ethel married Tommy Hammon in 1976, who later passed away in 1986. Ethel was a devoted mother and grandmother who remained dedicated to her family until the day she went to be with the lord.
She lived most of her life in Fort Worth where she was a bookkeeper and Avon Sales Lady for 40 years. She was a faithful member of Polytechnic United Methodist for over 50 years. In later years, she moved to her new home with her daughter and son-in-law, in Keller, TX, where she joined Keller United Methodist Church, which she attended regularly throughout the remainder of her life. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, working jigsaw puzzles, family, watching butterflies, birds and sunsets.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, a brother BA Hyatt and his wife Carlene. Ethel will never be forgotten by those who survive her, daughter Tricia McMahan, Brother Jessie Haytt/Ruth. Sister Ella Fisher/Stan, Grandsons Eric Briscoe/Brynn, Jason Briscoe/Melissa, Great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and many more who would call her family.
