Eugene “Blue” Sanders was born on April 19, 1955 in Itasca, Texas. He passed away on September 19, 2021 in Hurst, Texas at the age of 66 years old.
He was a graduate of Itasca High School on May 31, 1974 and then enlisted in the Army National Guard. He had worked since 2006 as a supervisor at Blue Linx where was very loved by his coworkers and was considered the "grandfather of the yard".
Blue was a very talented musician and an avid lover of music. He loved the blues, rock & roll, and gospel genres of music. He played guitar and sang at venues and churches all over the state. His singing voice was so special and will be remembered by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Floyd Ingram; sister, Alice Ann Kosumba; son, Bryan Sanders, and granddaughter, Makailah Sanders Bates.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-Amanda and Matthew Foreman of Harrah, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Leila Foreman, Wyatt Foreman & Madelynn Foreman, and Ryder Sanders and Beaux Sanders; sister, Joe Etter Stevenson Lee and husband, Clinton of Hurst, Texas; Godsisters, Velma Ervin Haynes and husband Terrance of Itasca, Texas and Joe Lucille Lewis and husband Michael of Lacy Lakeview, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 24, 2021 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Smithfield Cemetery in North Richland Hills with Rev. Marc Lowrance officiating.
