Eurnist Eugene Baines

Eurnist Eugene Baines, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on February 23, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
Eurnist was born in Seymour, TX to Henry Frank Baines and Elizabeth Lynn Speights. He passed away at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, TX. He was a resident of Haslet, TX.
Eurnist enlisted in the Army on February 14, 1963, with a strong desire to serve his country. He was a decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2). He separated from the military on February 23, 1978.
After separating from the military, Eurnist traveled the United States as a professional truck driver. He loved to travel and often spoke about how he planned to return to driving once he had beaten cancer.
Eurnist is survived by his son Johnny (Evangeline) Baines, brother Bill (Janice) Baines, and sister Anne Weis. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven of his siblings.
