North Richland Hills -- Eva June "EJ" Logan passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at a local hospital with her family at her side. Eva June was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and her faith.

Service: 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Smithfield. Open visitation: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst.

Eva June was born May 10, 1940, in Clovis, N.M., to parents, Clinton Williams Holmes and Annie Josephine Evans, who married in 1938. In 1957 the family moved to Plainview where she met and married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Carl Logan. Eventually Eva June, Carl and son, Cary, moved to the Smithfield area in the summer of 1978.

Eva June spent most of her life in banking, finishing her career with Frost Bank, where she made several friends that have lasted throughout her life. Eva June carried a vast knowledge and appreciation for literature. For the past seven years, Eva June and Carl have been retired, giving them a chance to enjoy the unconditional love they shared.

Eva June will be deeply missed. The kindness in her voice and the warmth of her love will always be remembered.

Eva June was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pat; and brother, Freddy.

Survivors: Her husband, Carl Logan of North Richland Hills; son, Cary Logan of Hurst; grandchildren, Jordan and Lindsey Logan of Hurst; sister, Barbara Faus of Odessa; and special cousins, Jack and Joann Wright of Lubbock.
