GRAPEVINE -- Fay Etta Massey, 79, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014.
Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine. Interment: Grapevine Cemetery. Because Fay loved to have gatherings at her home, there will be a final gathering after the service starting at 2 p.m. at her home, 2846 Peninsula Drive, Grapevine. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Fay was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Walnut, N.C. She later moved to Augusta, Ga., where she met and married Stanley Dodson in 1952. She moved to Dallas and had four children. In 1963, Fay moved her children to Grapevine, where she lived for the rest of her life. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1987. During this time she was an active member of CWA. She was blessed with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. After retirement she worked for Johnson Elementary School as a lunch lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna and Ed Ramsey; and sisters, Valerie Ashmead, Sue Edwards, Ava Etta Hamilton and Betty Jean Ramsey.
Survivors: Daughters, Phyllis Ceglia and husband, Tom, Terry Bailey and husband, Bob, and Rhonda Lantz and husband, Ralph; son, Alan Dodson; grandchildren, Michael Neely, Chad Neely, Leslie Caster and Taylor Stevens; and great-grandchildren, Saylor, Dutch and Charlie Neely and Lexi Fay Lara.
