Felicitas Rodela Garcia

Felicitas (Fela) Rodela Garcia was born May 2, 1935 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Basilio and Gregoria Rodela; she passed away March 10, 2023 at the age of 87.
Fela was known by many names like Fela, Felicia, Grandma and Grandma Garcia.
Fela became an LVN in the 60’s. She worked in several hospitals but felt a calling to care for the elderly in nursing homes. Fela cared for the elderly until she retired in 1998.
During retirement Fela enjoyed gardening. She could take any plant, dead or alive, and it would thrive under her care. Another thing Fela enjoyed was DIY projects; she was an avid HGTV fan. Fela would attempt any project in or out of her skill set. In addition, Fela loved sewing and working on puzzles.
More recently, while living at Atria, Fela joined the choir, worked on puzzles and was a highly competitive BINGO player at 2pm.
Fela is preceded in death by her parents, Basilio and Gregoria Rodela. Her brother, Robert Rodela; sisters, Petra Solis and Maria Garrett and, more recently, her son, Basilio (Tod) Perez.
Fela is survived by her children, Ernesto Perez, Paula/Pauline Holladay (John), Christine Trussell (Kenneth), Carrie Pullen (Jason) and Al/ Ally Garcia. She is also survived by her siblings, Basilio, Tonia, Oralia and Norma.
Fela was blessed to have fourteen grandkids and nineteen great grandkids.
Fela moved to 504 John Vernon in 1966 until she passed on March 10, 2023.
