Fern William Bombardier passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Born June 6, 1938, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he moved to Texas in 1957, when he joined the Air Force.
He married Dora Fudge on December 22, 1962 in Abilene, Texas.
A devout and devoted lifelong Catholic, Fern was a loving and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His 86 years of life were a strong example of caring for others and he was deeply loved by many.
Fern was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Walter Bombardier; his sister and brother-in-law Louise and Donnie McClaren; his sister and brother-in-law Jeanne and Walt Riggs; and his brother-in-law Arthur Morneau of Connecticut.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dora Bombardier of Hurst; son Fern W. Bombardier and wife Debbie of Watauga; daughter Christine Butler and husband Patrick of Mansfield; daughter Mitzi Bombardier of Hurst; and daughter Courtney Bombardier and fiancé Mark Bowen of Montrose, Colorado; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and his sisters Mary Ann Morneau of Connecticut and Irene Laney of Grandview,Texas.
