Frances Yvonne Anderson

GRAPEVINE -- Frances Yvonne Anderson, Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother passed away peacefully November 10, 2013.
A family memorial service will be held Monday, at 11:00 A.m. in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine with inurnment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.
Frances was born January 17, 1925, the only child of Johnny and Smidge (Torbert) Green in Hastings, Oklahoma. She graduated from Comanche High School in Comanche, OK. in 1942 and attended Cameron College at Lawton, OK.
During WWII she worked in a civil servant position at Fort Will, U.S. Army Field Artillery Post in Lawton, OK.
After her marriage to Frederick Gran, she moved to Minot, North Dakota where she was employed at Minot Federal Savings and Loan.
United in marriage to Donald Arthur Anderson in 1962, Frances enjoyed her role as homemaker and mother, raising her four children in North Dakota.
Cooking, travel, socializing and family were her special interests. She was a member of Eastern Star, P.E.O., PTA and the First Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. She enjoyed all travel, but particularly Hawaii, returning many times during her retirement years. After her husband Don retired from law practice in Minot, they settled in Grapevine, TX to be close to family.
Frances is preceded in death by her mother and father, step-father, Odus Whetsell; step-brothers Dick and Donald Whetsell; step-sisters Linda Dunlap and Lucille Sparks.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Donald; son, Greg Anderson, and daughters, Sammy Hefner and husband Barry, Remy Ryan, and Mary Vannett and husband Maynard, step-sister, Virginia Howell, and cousin Peggy Price, seven grandchildren, Noah and Gage Anderson, Grayson and Savanna Hefner, Michele Ryan, Michael Vannett and wife Johanna, Val Vannett, and one great granddaughter Anna,
The family wishes to express gratitude to her caregives at Silver Ridge Assisted Living, the staff of Grace Hospice and Pastor Bruce Ruiz.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children,2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas 75219.
