Frank Lloyd Hinchey

Frank Lloyd Hinchey, 90, of Keller, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at his home.
Frank was born on October 3, 1932, to Clifford Frank and Juanita Pearl (Hill) Hinchey in Jefferson City, TN. He graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1950 and he began his college education at Carson-Newman College. After 1 ½ years, he joined the Tennessee Air National Guard which was activated in December 1951. He served until December 1953 with his last assignment being with the 4707th Air Defense Wing of the Air Defense Command USAF, as Senior Operations Intelligence Specialist.
Frank returned to Carson-Newman to complete his degree in business in 1955. He then entered graduate school at the University of Tennessee, where he received a MS in Business in 1956. After graduation, he started his first job at Columbia-Southern Chemical Company, a subsidiary of PPG. He worked for numerous companies including Houston Chemical, Cain Chemical and Occidental Petroleum. He served in various management capacities with his last assignment in Beaumont, TX as Manager, Distribution and Supply. Frank held the position as department head at the Beaumont facility for 26 years. At his retirement in 1993, he was the oldest and had the longest duration of service at the Beaumont facility.
When Frank returned to Jefferson City to complete his undergraduate degree, he met the love of his life, Sara Jane Orr. On August 21, 1955, Frank and Jane married in Knoxville, TN. They had two children while living in Lake Charles, LA, - Stuart Paul Hinchey and Steven Frank Hinchey.
Frank was an active member of Calder Baptist church serving as a Bible Study teacher, usher and President of the Junior Board for men’s activities. He spent many hours duck and goose hunting with his sons, fishing, collecting rocks and researching genealogy. After both Frank and Jane retired they moved to Keller, TX to be closer to family. Frank is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Southlake.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Juanita, his son Stuart and his sister Barbara Ann Hinchey.
He is survived by his wife Dr. Jane O Hinchey, brother James Hinchey and wife Lura, son Steve Hinchey and wife Karen, granddaughter Katelyn and husband Dr. Andrew Word and great grandson, James Shepherd Word, granddaughter Stephanie Hinchey, granddaughter Julie Hinchey, nephew James Hinchey, Jr. and niece Sharon (Hinchey) Knechtel.
In their respect for higher education and its benefits to young people, Frank and Jane have established scholarships for outstanding students at Carson-Newman University, Lamar University, Lincoln-Memorial University and Texas A&M University.

In lieu of flowers, Frank wished for those who felt led to donate to the scholarships that he
and Jane funded.
