Frank Long

Frank James Long, age 84, of Ft. Worth passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
Graveside Service: 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, at Blanket Cemetery in Blanket, TX. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 30, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst, TX and from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, at Heartland Funeral Home, 303 Early Blvd. in Early, TX.
Frank was affectionately called "Doodle" by his family. He was born May 8, 1933 in Sulphur Springs to Sidney and Gertrude Long. He served in the Army in the Korean War where he learned to weld, which became his lifelong trade. Frank owned and ran several companies through the years. He built many rides at Six Flags Over Texas and many of the Atlanta Olympic venues at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. He grew huge gardens and his specialty was tomatoes which he generously shared with all. Frank was a good dancer and a big tease. He also competed and won many awards in various types of cook-offs. Most everyone who knew him were on the receiving end of one of his jokes at one time or another.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie Long and 2nd wife Patty Long, three sisters Justine Bass, Betty Joe Corley and Carmon Petros, and one brother Dell Wayne Long.
Frank is survived by three daughters Debbie Bellows and husband Greg of Ft. Worth, Kaye Alland of Watauga, Tammie Kelley and husband Jeff of Pecan Plantation, one brother Dennis Long, two sisters Juanita Mills and Annie Jean Carlisle, 4 grandchildren Robert Bellows and wife Linsey, Cindi Muir and husband Adam, Michelle Alland, Malorie Alland and husband Nathan, and Stephanie Hererra, 8 grandchildren: Paige and Beckham Bellows, Belle and Orien Muir, Jacob and Bentley Alland, Gabby Brecino, Christopher and Madylyn Chaney and, many nieces and nephews and friends who he loved dearly. He will be missed by all those that loved him.
