Frank Merrick, a devoted husband, beloved brother, cherished father, and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on December 2, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born on January 8, 1938, in Liverpool, England, Frank lived a remarkable life defined by service, love, and dedication. At 22 years of age, he enlisted with the British Military and served from 1960 to 1962. Early in his career he took to his father’s craft as a tailor, then later as an estimator. In 1977 Frank moved his family to the United States, seeking opportunity and adventure.
In the US, Frank built a successful career as an estimator at Trinity Industries, where his hard work and commitment earned the respect of his colleagues. After more than 25 years of dedicated service at Trinity, he retired in 2003, embracing a well-deserved life of leisure and fulfillment.
Frank was a man of many passions. He delighted in traveling with his wife, Ola, and enjoyed countless rounds of golf with his friends. A lifelong supporter of Liverpool Football Club, Frank never missed an opportunity to cheer for his beloved Reds. Most importantly, he found joy in supporting his grandchildren, attending their activities with unwavering pride and enthusiasm.
Frank is survived by his wife, Ola; siblings Marlene Sanderlin Williams (Floyd) and Barry Merrick (Catherine); children, Andrew Merrick (Michelle) and Damian Merrick (Tessy); stepchildren, Crystal Johnston (Steve Reser) and Leanetia Kyle (Brian); grandchildren, Collin Merrick, Tyler Merrick (Baylee), Hannah Merrick, Ben Merrick, Austin Kyle, and Cooper Kyle; and many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris Rosenberg-Merrick and Ruby Baxendale; and his brother Alan Merrick. Frank’s legacy of love and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on December 14th at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. A Livestream of the service can be seen below starting at 2:00 pm.
Frank Merrick will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the deep love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
