Frederick “Fred” Edwin Klapprodt, 68, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 peacefully with loved ones by his side.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Hillside Community Church: 9915 Ray White Rd, Keller, TX 76248.

Fred was born July 4, 1948 in Mountain Lake, MN to the late Marvin and Bonnie Klapprodt. He grew up on a farm with his family and attended Windom High School where he participated in wrestling, track, and football. After graduating high school in 1966, Fred attended Control Data Institute. Upon receiving his diploma, he moved out east to take a job in Asbury Park, NJ.
He married Marlys Vestlie on March 26, 1972, and started a career with Color Tile in 1973 in Maplewood, MN. Fred and Marlys had three boys, Joel, Jeremy, and Joshua. Fred’s career took him and his family to Texas in 1979, where he advanced to Executive Vice President.
Fred left Color Tile and entered the swimming pool industry in 1987. In 1997 he and oldest son, Joel, began Klapprodt Pools, which has grown and flourished in the area since, and continues to under the watch of sons, Jeremy and Josh.
Fred married Donna Harris on May 13, 2000. Through that marriage, he inherited two step-sons, Sloan and Blake Harris.
Fred loved work, gardening, hunting, fishing, cooking, and his family. He cared deeply for those around him and always strived to help others learn and grow, and have a good time. For that, countless people will forever be changed by their relationships with him. He will be deeply missed.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; niece, LeNai Klapprodt; and granddaughter, Grace Klapprodt.
Survivors: Wife, Donna; brother, Paul and his wife, Phyllis; sisters, Rosemary Greene and her husband, Jack, and Marleen Nelson; sons, Joel and his wife, Cathie, Jeremy and his wife, Rachel, and Joshua and his wife, Erin; step-sons, Sloan Harris and his wife, Staci, and Blake Harris and his wife, Amber; and nine grandchildren.
