Aggie and retired electrical engineer, Garry Caffey’s love for life and family didn’t come to an end with his death. Garry passed away on March 17, 2024, at the age of 81 after suffering from the gradual progression of Parkinson’s over the last few years. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Garry was born to Grady and Lavern Caffey in Orange, Texas on September 27, 1942, but spent the majority of his younger years in Mineola, Texas. Little did Garry know that his kindergarten classmate would one day become his wife; Garry and Sandra were married on October 30th of their senior year in high school. Garry was the first in his family to attend college and took great pride in completing the Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1966. He cherished early mornings on the lake water skiing, maintenance opportunities at the church and janitorial duties at Sandra’s dance studio. For a more distinguished pleasure, travel, Garry and Sandra loved to spend time visiting new places and completed their bucket list of visiting all 50 states. His greatest pride by far abound in his children and grandchildren, and he cherished his role as head cheerleader for his grandchildren’s sporting events – often scheduling a vacation in conjunction with a grandchild’s sporting event. Evident in his lifestyle, Garry had a strong faith and was a loyal member of Buckingham Road Church of Christ for many years where he served as a Deacon, and his more recent years were spent at Keller Church of Christ. Garry had an uncanny ability to connect with people of all ages, and his outgoing personality was contagious to everyone he met.

Garry is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Lavern Caffey.
