Gary Dale Hodge

Burleson -- Gary Dale Hodge, 66, of Burleson, passed away Wednesday, Oct.
09, 2013. We wish to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Huguley Hospital
for making his final days comfortable.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at The Lucas &
Blessing Funeral Home, 518 S.W. Johnson Ave., Burleson, with Danny Menges
officiating. Burial will follow at the Burleson Memorial Cemetery.
Gary married his childhood sweetheart, Linda West, on Nov. 28, 1963.
During their life together, they traveled, had all kinds of fun adventures,
and loved each other dearly for more than 50 years.
He and Linda were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Lori Martin and
Kelly Moore. Through these daughters were added two sons-in-law, David
Martin and Hank Moore; four grandchildren, Cary, Zachary, Kaytlin Moore, and
Joshua and Brittney Martin; and one great-grandson, Brenden Martin; brother,
Mike Hodge and wife, Lori; sisters, Colleen Hearon and husband, AV, Sue
Simmons and husband, Wayne, and Patty Buckner.
Gary was a man with tenacity, perseverance, the gift of hospitality, was a
wonderful cook, and caregiver to whomever he met.
After six long years of enduring his struggle with the cancer that ended
his life on earth, he was propelled into the presence of his Lord and
Savior. Gary¹s drive and endurance in fighting his disease were second to
none. He was admired by many for his bravery, fortitude and determination
to beat his illness.
We may be saying goodbye to this loving, generous, wise man, for now, but we
will see him again.
³Go rest high on the mountain, your work on earth is done.²
Gary was preceeded in death by his father and mother, Orval and Frances
Hodge; brothers, Jim Hodge and Billy Hodge; and sisters, Bea Smith and Linda
Sue Harrison.
