Gary Knox, 90, departed his home on earth, to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and all of God’s singers in Heaven, on July 29, 2019.
Edward Gary Knox was born to Leonard and Ella Dee Baker Knox on January 3, 1929 in Justin, Texas. He married LaFlora Cox on March 22, 1947 and they had two children, Price Edward and Scotti Belinda. LaFlora passed away on May 3, 1997 after she and Gary celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Gary was a farmer and a rancher in the Haslet and Alliance area, but his first love was the Lord. He demonstrated unconditional love to his family and friends, and never met a stranger. Many people were influenced by his Christian example and he led several souls to Christ. Gary loved to sing and led singing for 70 years as a life-long member of the Church of Christ.
Gary loved to laugh and make others laugh, whether it be a joke, a prank, or calling you by the nicknames he loved to give. He and LaFlora loved all holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. His haunted houses were the most fun, and every year he played Santa Claus (no padding needed, of course!), and brought joy to everyone in attendance.
Gary is survived by his wife Margaret, whom he married September 2, 1998; his son Price and wife Shirley; daughter Scotti Knox Lott; grandchildren Gail Kreger and husband Teddy, Travis Knox and wife Rachel, Brad Knox, Cindy Arriola and husband Joe, and Kelly Swafford and wife Laura. Gary was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, Krishna Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Colton Taylor, Jakob Kreger, Kase Gary Knox, and Kole Knox.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to Linda Eaton, Carol Johnson, Lynn Jambo, Christina Hames, and Bozena Januszewicz for their compassion and excellent care of Gary. Memorials may be made to Christ’s Haven for Children in Keller at
