Gary C. Richter

August 30, 1941 — May 20, 2018

Gary Charles Richter passed away peacefully on the morning of May 20th, 2018 surrounded by those he loved the most, his wife and children.

Gary was born August 30th, 1941 in Jamaica, New York to Kathleen (McCaherty) and Harry Richter. He was the second youngest of seven children. Gary served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and went on to work for American Airlines, where he retired after 35 years of service. He married his loving wife, Brenda Phoebus, on January 20th, 1990.

Gary was the loving father of four children: Ian, Jordan, Ryan, and Eric Richter. Gary loved his family, children, history, nature, lizards, football, Indy car, and his grand puppies. He was met at the gates of Heaven by his parents: Kathleen and Harry, brothers: Dennis, Harry, and Patrick, sister, Mary, father in-law, Lou Phoebus, and other family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, children: Ian, Jordan, Ryan, and Eric, older sister, Geri and brother in-law Tom Tesi, younger sister Diane and brother in-law John Meyer, and many other friends and family members. We miss Gary dearly, but it is well with our soul knowing we will see him again.

Gary’s memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 11th, 2018 at 11am at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation to your charity of choice in memory of Gary.
