Gayle Sorenson

Leona Gayle Carder Sorenson was born on July 26, 1942 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 Gayle grew up on the family farm in Paoli, Oklahoma. She was the third of six children born to Earl and Gennie Carder. Gayle attended and graduated from Saint Anthony School of Nursing in 1963. She joined the Air Force Reserve in 1964. She was a Clinic Nurse from 1964 to 1966. She then become a flight nurse. She retired in 1986 as a Lieutenant Colonel after 22 years of service. Gayle continued her nursing education for her BSN at University of Massachusetts. She continued her nursing career until she retired in 2003. Gayle is survived by her brother Lloyd (Judy) Carder of Sanger, Texas, her sister Earlene Carder of Grapevine, Texas, her brother Lee (Patsy) Carder of Edmond, Oklahoma and her sister Lynn (Roy) Hogsed of Grapevine, Texas. Gayle will be missed and remembered by many other loving family members and very dear friends. Gayle is proceeded in death by her husband of over 37 years Arthur J. Sorenson, her parents Earl and Gennie Carder and her sister Karen Perini.
