Emblem

George Wood was born April 5th, 1943, in Jasper, AL to Eula Mae and William Woods. George was drafted into the United States Army and served from April 15th, 1964, to April 1st, 1975, achieving the rank of Sargeant First Class. While serving in the Army, George worked as a Pershing Missile Crewman stationed in various locations in the U.S. and Germany.

Upon leaving the military, George moved to Nashville, TN, and then to Orange County, CA where he worked at American Display INC. as President of Sales. George worked alongside his brother in this role until leaving the company in 1989. Since 1989, George has resided in various areas of the U.S. until moving to the Fort Worth area around 1999.

During his free time, George cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George never met a stranger and was never shy to share an opinion. He spent many hours providing life lessons and telling war stories. As a leader and mentor, he devoted his time and knowledge to many around the Fort Worth area who will deeply miss him. George was a constant communicator, and we will miss the almost daily phone calls. The wisdom he imparted will be held closely by all those that he leaves behind.

George is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Atley Grace; his brothers Conrad, G.W., Delbert “Otis", and Emmitt; his sisters Willie Mae, Edna, Eva “Nell”, Dorious. Survived by brother Bill of Oregon; sister Neda of Tennessee; daughter Georgia of Oklahoma; grandchildren Kyle Moore of Texas, Kasey Moore, Destiny Wood with 4 great-grandchildren, Savannah Bowen, and Wyatt Wood, all of Oklahoma.
